H  E  R  V  E  I  R

Born and raised in the heart of Africa, Rwanda, Herve is a photographer and graphic artist with over 11 years of experience, working primarily on nature, people and culture. His early passion for photography came with his first salary when he bought a small digital camera in pursuit of photographing the beauty of Kivu lake and surrounding mountains. Later working as a graphic designer in one of the biggest creative agencies in Rwanda, he managed to upgrade to better equipment where he evolved in photography combined with graphics skills.

 

Today Herve’s work mainly focuses on people, cultures, Nature, landscape and advertising.
Photography to him equals to traveling around, exploring the furthest reaches of the country and the world. On assignment with different clients helps understand the beauty of life and especially kept in memories, that’s where photography comes in. 

 

Working with local to international organizations, such as The Rwanda Development Board, Girl Effect, UNESCO, World Association of Girl guides and Girl Scouts, Kerzner, Forbes magazine, Heineken and others, his work had been featured in various magazines and news papers like Huffingtonpost, The culturetrip, AllAfrica, Medium and the lily.

 

Currently based in Kigali,

As an environmentalist, I could add and say that we live on a beautiful planet,
therefore it's a must and imperative that  we have to conserve it.
